It wasn’t that long ago that people in Britain had to have a I D Card, indeed my missus as still got the one she had as a child which ran out in the mid 60′s.  I don’t feel that there is any problem about us having ID Cards except they want to make us pay for them too.

I heard on the tele that they have already started to produce ID Cards in Manchester. This is a voluntary program that will cost  £30 to be part off.  They are not to be used till Sept and good luck to them.

Now I expect they are to be about the same size as a driving licence so why can’t they incorporate the two together.  It would make sense as we already use driving licence for ID at the moment.   Then why not go one better and incorporate the passport into it as well.

Then they could incorporate Tesco’s club points as well.  MasterCard and Visa details can be added.

We could have one card for everything and never have the need for such things as money, keys, all those forms needed for places like job centres, tax offices, courts, hospitals, dentists, doctors.

Maybe they could slip a sim card and then it can be inserted in a mobile phone.   So you could have a camera and computer with it as well.

Mind you as my wife doesn’t have a passport, driving licence, or a shot gun licence so she can’t get a bank account as she doesn’t exist. so she for one thinks it’s a good idea as she will then become  a person again.

One day in the not to distant future  we will all have to have a ID Card.  What then?

Will it be a requirement by law that we will all have to carry them at all times. Yet another step towards a police state.   I think there will be a least two camps.  Those for and those against, alright three camps, those who don’t give a toss.

Which ever camp you belong too, it will happen, I think, and we will just have to get on with it, or move to another country.  Bulgaria sounds best bet at the moment.
